Media Center
The Graphics Media Center is a student-run graphic design agency in the Howard Gittis Student Center at Temple University. We provide high level design and production related client interaction, handle client billing and cash handling, maintain materials and equipment and much more. During the fall 2021 semester, the GMC underwent a rebrand led by the staff. The branding stemmed from our “Meet Our Designers” graphics that introduced our staff. Myself and my fellow designer, Camryn Sheasley worked on the template together and from there, the overall GMC branding was born. Since then, all of the very talented designers of the GMC create content for our social media.

Meet the Team
The “Meet Our Designers” graphic was created to introduce our followers and potential clients to our talented student designers. Each post featured the designers headshot and their name, major and graduation year, along with a carousel of their work once posted on Instagram.
We wanted to keep our branding funky, colorful and creative, just like the GMC and our designers. The rainbow gradient with a bit of grain over it brings some brightness and a wide range of colors for our overall palette without being too overwhelming. “Ohno Blazeface” was a typeface completely different from our usual header sans serif font, but to keep a balance, we used a different sans serif, Colfax, for all of our subtext. We ended up pulling the email window background graphic and utilizing it on a lot of our social media posts advertising our services. We also created some additional geometric elements to break up the space.
Previous Theme and Content
We were previously limiting ourselves to traditional Temple University Branding—the cherry and white color palette and more rigid type didn’t necessarily reflect the creativity of the GMC, so we wanted to change it up.
In addition to social media posts, we also create content for the large digital signage board in the upper north atrium of the Student Center.
